The Green Seal mark is an ecolabel that is similar to the European Ecolabel and that was created in the US. Its purpose is to verify that the product that meets the criteria of the referenced standard helps reduce the negative impact of consumption and production on the environment, health, the climate and natural resources.
Green Seal certifies therefore that this product has a limited impact on the environment. Not all products are awarded by this certification. It is not enough to claim that a product is ecological in order to be awarded the Green Seal certification. To obtain it companies have to submit documentation that the product has met a number of criteria set by the competent authorities. These are demanding criteria the aim of which is to protect human health and the environment throughout the lifecycle of the product while guaranteeing a product performance that is at least equal to user expectations.
